Join negotiation expert Professor Daniel Ames ’91, head of the negotiation curriculum at Columbia Business School and creator of the online tutorial Negotiable, as he talks through principles for collaborative negotiation. Daniel will debunk some myths and review a framework for negotiation preparation that can help you get ready for situations you face with peers, faculty, and supervisors. Participants will get hands-on practice with some negotiation challenges and leave with practical ideas that can increase both confidence and outcomes (including acting with integrity and building relationships). Please note that this is a two-hour session.
Dr. Daniel Ames’91 is a social psychologist who studies how people get along and get things done together. In this keynote discussion, Dr. Ames will talk about his own journey into the world of negotiation teaching and research, sharing ideas about how college students can build this capability.
