Founded in Milwaukee, WI, Acts Housing is expanding its mission to turn renters into homeowners in Beloit. The community development organization enables low-income families to become homeowners through financial counseling, real estate brokerage, loans, and other expertise.
The Belmark research team spent the summer of 2019 benchmarking two Beloit neighborhoods that will be impacted. Over the next five years, more than 150 families will become new homeowners in the Merrill and Hackett neighborhoods. By collecting baseline data now, Belmark research will help inform the program’s efficacy as Acts Housing helps improve at-risk neighborhoods.
