What does it mean to work in the Arts?
Your campus job is a vital part of learning and gaining experience
If visual art is your thing, you may do photography or graphic design for campus administration. Spend your day surrounded by art as a gallery attendant, or help out your peers as a studio monitor. Even try your hand at running a business as director of Gallery ABBA.
If you’re interested in theatre - get involved in the process by joining the costume shop where you can learn to pattern and create costumes for the stage, or join the scene shop where you might work with power tools and get your hands dirty. If you like people, Front of House or Box Office may be for you.
Support music by working in the office of the Music Department, and gain experience with publicity and concert production.
Build your resume through an internship
Beloit students intern at many arts organizations, including the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts, The Friends of Lorrie Niedecker, Ethos Films, Turtle Creek Orchestra, and the Beloit International Film Festival.
