Request a Committee Letter

The Health Professions Advisory Committee is available to write a committee letter advocating for you in your applications to medical programs.

A committee letter is a comprehensive letter of evaluation that provides an institutional perspective on your academic and personal strengths. Additionally, submitting a letter demonstrates your proactive engagement with advising resources and your commitment to pursuing a career in a health profession.

Timeline

  • February 15: Students seeking a committee letter must submit their materials to the committee.
  • March 15: Internal letters from faculty must be submitted to the committee.

Student provided materials

To receive a letter, students must prepare and provide the following materials:

  • Unofficial transcript
  • Cumulative GPA of all Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math coursework
  • Names of the individual evaluation letter writers from whom you have requested letters of recommendation.
    • Two individuals must be science faculty.
    • One individual must be non-science faculty.
  • MCAT score, or a list of practice exam scores, and test date.
  • Draft of your Personal Statement
  • Resume

All materials should be sent to the committee via email (hpac@beloit.edu) by February 15.

Internal letters

Students are responsible for contacting the faculty they’ve identified as individual evaluation letter writers. These internal letters inform the committee about each student. These internal letters should be sent, directly from the writer, to the committee via email (hpac@beloit.edu) by March 15.
