Request Materials
Need a book or article that the library doesn’t have? Let us know and we will get it for you.
A library cannot own everything that anyone might want at any time. Two options exist for providing you with materials not currently owned by the Beloit College library. Faculty, students, and staff can either request that the library purchase a particular item or that an item is obtained for a short-term loan through Interlibrary Loan.
Current Beloit College students and faculty and staff living in Rock County can also borrow materials directly from the Beloit Public Library. To apply for a borrower’s card, Beloit College students should take their college IDs and state ID or license.
Interlibrary Loan Request
Our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service locates and obtains materials wanted by students, faculty, and staff that are not in Beloit’s collection. Textbooks and articles assigned for reading by a class are not eligible for ILL.
To create an ILL request please fill out this form in your User Portal. Select the type of request on the “Create Request” bar. Use the copy tab for book chapters and articles and the loan tab for physical materials like books, DVDs, musical scores, etc.
Allow about 7 to 10 days for receipt of items requested through InterLibrary Loan. When your item is ready to be picked up or downloaded you will receive an email. Please contact ILL@beloit.edu with any questions about ILL.
