Last April, David Benjamin set out to create his own imprint for fiction, essays, and short stories, and he has already published or republished five titles under Last Kid Books, including Summer of’68. This coming-of-age novel follows preteens at Camp Nantoka in Chicago during the summer of 1968—one of the most tumultuous times in modern world history. After 46 years in journalism, Benjamin has a slew of new novels and short story collections in the works.
