Cutting the Dusk in Half

By Thomas Erickson’82
Bent Paddle Press, 2022

Book cover of Cutting the Dusk in Half by Thomas Erickson'82. Thomas Erickson’s fifth book of poetry is full of courtrooms, traveling, love, dogs, and even an incantation to the gods. Erickson is candid, philosophical, and down-to-earth and weaves his signature dry humor throughout this collection.

A Milwaukee-based attorney by trade, he took second place in the Wisconsin People & Ideas 2018 Poetry Contest. His award-winning chapbook, The Lawyer Who Died in the Courthouse Bathroom, was published by Parallel Press in 2013.

Jeff Jensen’82, Erickson’s classmate, created the cover art for Cutting the Dusk in Half.
