Stress Relief

How to Beloiters find some down time and fun during finals?

This year, as the magazine staff worked to put the finishing touches on our winter edition, students and faculty were entering into late fall semester crunch-time. Classes ended, a study day followed, and final exams began in earnest.

Here’s a short list of some of the end-of-the-semester stress-relieving activities brought to campus by student organizations, and the college’s Health and Wellness Center and Student Engagement and Leadership teams.

Free Tacos at The Wall

An ever-popular locally owned taco truck brought its delicious offerings to campus, and it was free.

Library Libations

Students looking for warmth and caffeine could drink free coffee and tea in the library all afternoon during the first scheduled study day, held the day after classes ended on Dec. 12.

Canoe Battleship

Students blew off steam by paddling canoes around the Sports Center’s indoor pool, while trying to sink their opponents with buckets full of water.

Sigma Chi Caroling

Members of Sigma Chi fraternity offered to sing holiday carols at residence halls on request, with donations going to cancer research.
