Ursula Le Guin exhibit opening

You won’t want to miss the final event of this year’s unique public humanities project, “Ursula Le Guin at Beloit: A Community Reading and Worldbuilding Project 50 Years after The Dispossessed.”

English professor Tamara Ketabgian’s class curators created the exhibit based on their research of science fiction writer Le Guin’s time at Beloit as the Mackey Chair in Creative Writing in spring 1992. Commemorating 50 years of Le Guin’s utopian novel The Dispossessed, the exhibit will display artifacts from her time at Beloit College and discoveries students made along the way.

The exhibit’s opening is Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Morse Library. Refreshments will be served, and the exhibit is free and open to the public for the remainder of the semester.

Two concerts in Eaton Chapel

This week, not one but two free music concerts will take place in Eaton Chapel, both at 7:30 p.m. First, the Wind and Jazz Concert is tonight (Monday). The Beloit College Choirs (including Chamber Singers and the College and Community Choir) perform this Sunday, Nov. 24.
