Nursing program launches

A year ago we announced that Beloit College established a partnership with Edgewood College for a dual-degree bachelor of arts or science (BA/BS) and bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program, preparing students to become a registered nurse (RN).

Next week this nursing program launches with the first cohort of 8 students.

Let’s celebrate this exciting new program that will support Beloit College students serving their communities in a health care profession.

Sports recap

  • Baseball swept the week with four wins in four games, including a three-game series sweep over Illinois College. Ben Schweit ’27 was masterful, throwing a complete game shutout, leading the Buccaneer pitching staff who only gave up two runs in 27 innings. They secured the two-seed and will play in the Midwest Conference Tournament at Lawrence University on Friday and Saturday for the third year straight.
  • Softball split a weekend series against Lawrence University over the weekend, ending their season with a 4-1 victory. The Bucs were one win away from making their first Midwest Conference Tournament in 20 years. The six seniors combined for eight of the 13 hits over the weekend.
  • Track and field competed in the Battle of the Bluffs in Dubuque, IA over the weekend. The Bucs are in preparation as they will head to Lawrence University to compete in the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships, which will be held on Friday and Saturday.
