The health and wellness center is committed to offering high quality primary care. All of our services are available in a nonjudgmental environment and are sensitive to the diversity and unique identities of our students.
Services
Our registered nurses are available for consultations, advice and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.
Make an appointment with our nurse practitioner for women’s health visits, pap smears, birth control and other gynecological needs. Free pregnancy tests are available by asking one of the nurses.
Sexually transmitted infection testing is available with nurse practitioner visits. If that doesn’t work for you, talk to the Health and Wellness Center staff for nearby reduced cost and free options.
Free condoms are available in the HWC lobby.
Lab testing (strep, UTIs, etc.) is available by appointment with our nurse practitioner.
Sprain your ankle? Have a headache? Need a band-aid? The HWC has small quantities of over the counter medications and medical equipment to help students in need.
Every week on Thursday morning at 9am, the Beloit Health System lab comes to the HWC to perform laboratory services on students with this need.
This service requires a doctor’s order and must be arranged in advance. Please contact the HWC for help with this.
The Health and Wellness staff can assist you with finding local providers to meet your needs. Referrals to specialists are also available with nurse practitioner appointments.
The Beloit Health System provides a weekday shuttle service to the hospital and to the Beloit Clinic for appointments. This service must be arranged ahead of time through the Health and Wellness Center.
If students need transportation at other times there are Uber, Lyft, taxis and bus routes that will take students to appointments.
