There are currently two full-time professional staff members that live on-campus in the Residence Halls. These Residence Life Coordinators help Resident Assistants and provide additional support, counseling, mediation and care for our students.
Every attempt is made to provide safe, secure buildings. Many of the residence halls are accessed using a key card system that uses the student IDs as ‘keys’. Some houses, however, do not use the ID system; rather, the students are issued exterior door keys.
No matter the system used, all members of the residence community share responsibility for security. All residents can help in this process by:
- keeping room doors locked
- not propping open exterior doors
- not allowing strangers into the buildings, instead asking them to enter using their own ID or key
- reporting suspicious strangers to the Security Office
The College will only have storage in Whitney Hall for international students, students doing a semester abroad, or those that live more than 1,000 miles away and is first come, first serve, when it is full, it will be closed
Facilities can help with any maintenance problems in your room or living space. To request help, complete a SchoolDude ticket, giving as much information as you can.
If the problem is serious, such as a flooding bathroom, contact the Facilities office directly at 608-363-2200 or Security after-hours at 608-363-2355.

A “Living Education”
Life in the Residence Halls is an exciting aspect of your “living education” at Beloit.
You will meet students from all over the country and the world. Community in the halls is based on mutual respect for the rights, opinions, feelings, and beliefs of others.
Through hall programming and college activities, we expect you will learn about new ideas, challenge you in various ways, and ultimately make lifelong friendships. Students strengthen their interpersonal skills, enhance their participant and leadership skills, and learn to appreciate the variety of thoughts, cultures, and lifestyles present on campus.
