The office of Residential Life employs people for a wide assortment of jobs. With thirty two Resident Assistants and six Head Resident Assistants, several office and building assistants, and a handful of summer conference workers, it is one of the largest departments on campus in regards to student employment. Additionally, there is one full-time Operations Coordinator and three full-time live in professional Residence Life Coordinators. The Director of Housing is also a full-time live in professional staff.
The structure of the department of Residential Life and the Student Affairs division is designed to provide a support and resource system for every member of the community.
Want to be a Resident Assistant for the 2026-2027 Academic Year?
Applications will be out Monday, January 19th 2026! Being a Resident Assistant just could be the most rewarding experience of your life! You must have lived on campus at least one semester to apply and have over a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
The timeline for the RA selection process will be as follows:
- Monday, February 9th: Dinner at Hamiltons at 6:00p.m. with RA staff (optional, go if you have questions)
- Tuesday, February 10th: RA Interest Session in the Maurer Link from 8:00p.m.-9:00p.m.
- Wednesday, February 11th: Coffee and snacks in the Res Life Office from 11:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
- Thursday, February 12th: Pizza in the Emerson Hall Lounge at 6:00p.m., meet the RA staff
- Wednesday, February 18th: New RA Applications due by 5:00p.m.
- Wednesday, February 25th: Group Process Day Science Center Various Rooms 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m.
- Thursday, February 26th: Alternate Date for Group Process (if not able to make the Wednesday date) Science Center Various Rooms 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m.
- Friday, February 27th, Saturday, February 28th, Sunday March 2st: RA Interviews in the Res Life Office 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
- Friday, March 20th: Decisions letters e-mailed out, good luck!!!
Professional Employees
There are currently two RLCs at Beloit College. Each RLC oversees a complex of residential buildings and supervises approximately 10-14 RAs. The RLCs primary role is supervising the RA staff as well as taking part in the on call rotation. They live on campus and are an important asset to the department. Additionally, the RLCs offer basic counseling, mentoring, mediation, and disciplinary meetings for the general student body.
They each also have several collateral assignments: Working with Special Interest Housing and working with Greek Life.
