During the months of June and July, the Wright Museum galleries feature our Annual Beloit & Vicinity Exhibition.
This exhibition is recognized as one of the oldest continuous juried art competitions in the state of Wisconsin.
Each year the Wright Museum invites regional artists to submit their work, which is juried by two members in the arts from the area.
Everyone views and experiences reality differently.
Huffman’s body of work draws from forgotten snapshots of reality. Images predominately captured by others, deemed not worthy of display or further reflection, and left in boxes for decades until their existences were to reach their end in a waste bin. To her eyes, however, the images held compelling compositions and deserved elevation. With careful cropping and scale selection, Huffman has painstakingly re-rendered such moments, giving them a second chance at life and receiving deeper reflection.
