Safe, Sensible, Smart: Know What to Expect

We're back to business. Safely.
(And chemistry. And literature. And political science.)

Beloit College is a highly vaccinated community. This commitment to health and safety on campus has served us well throughout the pandemic. We strongly encourage all members of our community, including staff, faculty, and students, to remain “Up to Date” on their COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters according to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines.

With testing, vaccines and boosters widely available, we are a community that will thrive. We are engaging with our local community, welcoming visitors and spectators, and enjoying both on and off-campus events and activities to create a robust and vibrant student experience.

Additionally, we understand that some members of our community are unable to receive vaccinations for philosophical, religious, or medical reasons. We support their individual circumstances and respect personal or necessary choices in this matter.

We continue to monitor the situation

Our primary commitment is keeping our community safe and healthy. As we have from the beginning of the pandemic, we continue to monitor regional, national, and international developments. As always, our focus is on the well-being of our entire campus population. We will continue to take any necessary precautions, and adapt quickly to changing conditions.

“Self-care is community care” is our guiding principle. We underscore its importance and encourage all to continue to practice it.

Here’s what you need to know:

We’re back to being an entirely in-person, residential institution.

In-person participation in classes is an essential component of a Beloit College education.

Remote enrollment in in-person courses is not available.

General mask wearing is optional on-campus.

Students studying together in the Powerhouse, wearing masks.

Masks are not required unless an individual is exposed to COVID-19 or is asked to wear one in a classroom or personal space.

Everyone should continue to carry a mask.

Students are required to provide proof of full vaccination.

A vaccinated and boosted community allows us to resume the normal on-campus experience we had prior to the pandemic.

Individuals may request an exemption, where appropriate.
