    Fern Denne, Ava Krahn, Miette Mueller, and Lemon Wood, all of the class of 2019, collaborated to transform the North Gallery of the Wright Museum of Art. By filling it with furniture, plants, and personal artifacts, they sought to make it a welcoming place to view their art.

Students in the “Ephemeral Art” course had the opportunity to explore multiple art forms, including drawing, painting, and performance.

Inside a course about the fleeting nature of art

Students painted Chinese water calligraphy on a sidewalk and let it dry in the sunshine, performed improvisational music, and strutted their stuff at an outdoor fashion show. It was all part of a fascinating course which challenged students to explore transitory artistic practices, then create impermanent art themselves.
