Barbara and Bill Haseltine Prize in Media Studies

The Barbara and Bill Haseltine Prize in Media Studies is awarded annually to a Media Studies (declared) major in their sophomore or junior year at Beloit College. The prize, up to $5,000, gives the recipient the opportunity to pursue creative endeavors, service projects, entrepreneurial initiatives, and other activities outside the realm of Media Studies, away from the student’s home and away from Beloit.

Media Studies faculty will determine the amount and award the prize after reviewing essay submissions and related material. Selection is based on the quality and feasibility of the proposed activity and its benefit to the recipient’s liberal arts education. Following the completion of the project, the recipient will give a presentation about their project at Spring Symposium.

The Haseltine Prize shall not be awarded to fund internships, or course work at Beloit or other institutions, or to supplement summer income.
