Cell phones, tablets, smart TVs, and gaming devices, as well as computers, are welcome on campus and can be easily registered on the network.
Devices that will be connected to the campus wired network must be registered once per academic year. Most devices that only connect wirelessly do not need to be registered. However, if your device does not have a web browser, it will need to be registered manually to connect. Some devices like streaming devices, smart devices, gaming consoles, etc. need to be registered.
Beloit College Library and Information Services (LITS) provides high-speed wired and wireless network access in campus buildings, campus affiliated spaces, and in residential and academic spaces for use by faculty, staff, students, and guests.
The BCNet wireless network is for use by faculty, staff and current students. The BCGuest wireless network is available for campus guests. Wired network ports are available in most buildings and can be easily identified by the color-coded orange or blue connection port and the Dxxx label. White wall ports are no longer utilized and were for analog landline phone connections and have a Vxxx label.
