LSAT Professional Exam - Cheat Sheet to the Basics

Who takes the LSAT?
If you are to attend law school in the United States, Canada, and a selection of other countries.
Test available in the U.S. and worldwide (locations vary).
LSAT Test Format
The general test is given via computer.
Section 1 - Multiple Choice Questions
Five 35-minute sections
- Reading Comprehension – Understanding complex materials
- Analytical Reasoning – Understanding structure and drawing conclusions
- Logical Reasoning (2x) – Analyzing. evaluating, and completing arguments •
- Unscored - unlabeled and for research purposes only
Section 2 - Writing Sample
35 minutes
- Argumentative writing skills
- Unscored but sent to law schools along with overall score
Registering for the Test
- LSAC account needed for registration
- Monday testing for Sabbath observation available
- Scores available in ~3 weeks, by email
- Test can be taken 3 times per testing year, 5 times with a 5-year period, and 7 times over a lifetime
- Visit LSAT site for more details on available test dates, locations, rescheduling, canceling, ID requirements, etc.
Cost
- $200 for LSAT + Writing Test
- $15 for stand-alone Writing Test
