Closing of Residential Halls
All Beloit College residence halls and apartments will close on Friday, Dec. 13 at 5:00 p.m. Only students with permission are allowed to remain on-campus during break. Be prepared to secure your room before you leave.
What you need to know
- All Beloit College residence halls and apartments will close on Friday, Dec. 13 at 5:00 p.m.
- Only students with permission are allowed to remain on-campus during break. If you are permitted to stay on-campus during break, there is a fee.
- If you plan to be in your residence hall or apartment on any day between December 13 and January 18, you must sign up online before the break begins.
- All Residence Hall outer doors will be locked 24/7 during the break. Carry your keys and Student ID Card at all times.
Things to do before you leave
- Close, lock and latch all windows. To ensure the window is closed, do it in that order. If the window is not properly closed, extreme temperatures may cause water pipes to burst.
- Pull curtains closed.
- Set heat to 68 degrees Fahrenheit if applicable
- Turn lights off and unplug electrical items (except any refrigerators).
- Remove all items from your room refrigerator, clean the fridge, and keep it plugged in.
- Remove any items you have in the public refrigerator.
- Take all trash to the dumpster. Trash left in the room may present a health and safety hazard.
- Lock room door.
For safety and security purposes, Residential Life staff will check your room after you leave to ensure all procedures have been followed.
Further, any rule violations will also be documented.
