Phi Beta Kappa Reading Group
Phi Beta Kappa is holding a series of reading groups to prepare for Visiting Scholar Dr. Kelly Lambert. Email orbezoperezgd@beloit.edu to receive copies of the readings.
Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Dr. Kelly Lambert will be on campus March 20-21. A keynote address and multiple other evens will be occurring during her two-day visit to campus. In anticipation of her visit, Phi Beta Kappa will host reading groups leading up to the visit. These are free and open to faculty, staff, and students.
During these reading group sessions, we will be discussing sections from three of Dr. Lambert’s books. Please email orbezoperezgd@beloit.edu to receive PDF copies to the readings. You can access physical and/or digital copies through the Beloit College Library as well.
Dr. Lambert comes from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. She was a first-generation college student who has become an award-winning behavioral neuroscientist. Her research topics include resiliency, stress coping strategies, and experience-based neuroplasticity. Her findings can be applied to a wide variety of real-world experiences and are valuable in learning how our brains and bodies react to stress and can “bounce back” from stressors.
You are still welcome to attend if you don’t complete the readings before the session.
Feel free to bring your lunch! Light refreshments will also be provided.
