Student Health Insurance Waiver
Beloit College policy requires all students to have current, US based health insurance while enrolled. All Beloit College students will be enrolled in Wellfleet student health insurance for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students covered by appropriate insurance may complete an online waiver before July 15 to decline this insurance.
Costs
The cost for the 2025-2026 student health insurance cost is $2,301 with $964 billed to students before the fall semester and $1,337 before the start of the spring semester.
Waiver requirements
- Domestic students who have current health insurance that meets the required specifications may complete an online waiver to decline the Wellfleet insurance.
- International students holding J-1 Exchange Visitor Status through Beloit College are required to maintain the Wellfleet insurance per Beloit College policy.
- Exchange visitors studying at Beloit College through the ISEP program will be automatically waived as the ISEP program required insurance satisfies the Beloit College requirements.
- International students holding F-1 status are now eligible to waive/decline/opt out of the Wellfleet insurance only if they have a US based insurance policy that meets the following requirements:
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) Compliant
- US based policy
- US address and phone number for claims and customer service
- Repatriation of remains benefit of $25,000
- Medical Evacuation benefit of $50,000
Waiver process
The waiver must be submitted by July 15, 2025.
- Go to www.wellfleetstudent.com
- Search for and select Beloit College
- Log in or create an account
- Click the “Waive” button
- Complete the waiver questions as requested and upload required documents
Waiver status
Once the waiver request is submitted you will receive an email saying that, “Your waiver request is PENDING”. This is not confirmation of an accepted waiver.
At this point, please watch your email carefully for additional information requests from Wellfleet. It is not unusual for them to request additional information in order to approve waiver requests. When the waiver is accepted, you will receive an email stating that, “Your waiver request is APPROVED”.
Once the student’s waiver is approved by Wellfleet, the health insurance charges will be removed from the student account. Please be patient as this final step of removing the charges can take a few weeks.
