Summer Science: Alyssa Morris and Kristin Labby
Alyssa and Kristin’s literature research project seeks to compile protocols for pigment syntheses that are suitable for the undergraduate chemistry lab
Pigments are materials that give color. While many pigments are found in nature, other pigments are organic or inorganic molecules that can be synthesized in the lab. This literature research project seeks to compile protocols for pigment syntheses that are suitable for the undergraduate chemistry lab. Furthermore, pigments are wonderful samples for analysis by a variety of instrumental techniques. These protocols will be useful for future student projects in Instrumental Analysis courses and may be published for use in other chemistry teaching labs.
