CUNA Mutual Group is a financial services company based in Madison, WI. Irakli is a double major in Business Economics and Data Analytics. Irakli received an endowed internship award ($2,500) from the Department of Economics and Business.

“Throughout the internship search I was supported the most by Professors Laura Grube and Diep Phan,” he says. Both faculty members served as mentors - suggesting alumni to speak with, companies to consider, and providing tips on interviewing.

As a Quantitative Strategist Intern, Irakli will be researching current markets and activities that affect the multi-billion dollar portfolio that the team manages. In addition, Irakli will be helping the company to utilize the strategy optimization software. Irakli explains, “I am excited about this opportunity because my manager seems very nice, and I am sure that I will learn a lot from him. In addition to that, I will be learning the methods of strategic planning and advanced optimization techniques for different kinds of portfolios.”
