At the Beloit and Beyond Conference, students will demonstrate what they have learned during study abroad and domestic study programs, internships, job-shadowing placements, volunteering, community engagement, and in leadership positions on campus and in the community.

Next Tuesday’s B&B schedule is now available. There are 70 students participating in panels, roundtables, and drop-by sessions that run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Students will tell how they have developed the skills needed to thrive in their lives beyond Beloit, as productive collaborators, creative problem solvers, effective communicators, and agile thinkers.

Student Rayven Ferber will share the experience working as an EMT during COVID-19 and Emmalynn May describes joining the Montana Conservation Corps as a youth Expedition Leader. There’s also Garrison Ferone who traveled to Galapagos Island for wildlife research. That’s just a few of the students who are scheduled to speak at the Beloit and Beyond Conference.

Join Michael Woldemarian’05 for the Ivan M. Stone Lecture on US-Africa relations: New Biden administration strategy for Africa. The event is Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Powerhouse’s Weissberg Auditorium. Michael Woldemariam is an associate professor in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Senior Fellow at the Center for International & Security Studies at Maryland. Woldemariam’s teaching and research interests are in African security studies, with a particular focus on armed conflict in the Horn of Africa.
