H. Daniel Green’56 DSC
1981 Distinguished Service Citation
An early interest in engineering evolved into a fascination for dentistry after you crossed the Rock River from Beloit Memorial High School and received greater exposure to biology, chemistry, and physics as a college student. Upon earning a D.D.S. at Northwestern University, you entered the Army and headed a dental clinic in Germany before returning to Beloit to establish your practice. You quickly were recognized as a doer – a man who made things happen. The Greater Beloit community has benefitted from your untiring leadership of the Association of Commerce, Lions Club, United Fund, YMCA, Salvation Army, Methodist Church, and Council Against Crime, to name just a few of your many activities – and the Jaycees honored you as Outstanding Young Man of the Year. Professionally, you have actively promoted dental health and won election as president of the county and state dental associations and of the Wisconsin Council of Professions. And when it comes to giving time, talent, and resources, you have not neglected your Alma Mater, serving it as Alumni Association president and alumni trustee. It is with special pride and appreciation that Beloit College awards you this Citation during your 25th Class Reunion.
