You founded the department and became first chief engineer of the Florida State Board of Health.
One of many Beloit College students inspired by our beloved chemistry professor, E.G. Smith, you have gone on to a distinguished career in sanitary engineering. Following advanced study at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, you founded the department and became first chief engineer of the Florida State Board of Health. Your work in later years as a consultant to municipalities in the south and elsewhere in planning and zoning has been widely recognized.
