Son of Illinois and coming from a state college there; with but two years at Beloit yet winning distinction in athletics, forensics, and journalism, and graduating with high honors; a leader in graduate study of law and university teacher of that subject; selected for government service and member of several war boards; concerned with wage stabilization and civic problems in labor relations and liquor control; effective in community and national social service disproving the sentence in your Senior Commencement address that “The world does not want us.”; law partner of a distinguished American; your career has brought you national distinction and reflects honor on your Alma Mater.
