Naturalist – Educator

A native of Beloit who was no stranger to the campus and the faculty as a boy and who was introduced to area prairies and to ecological writings by College biologists, you have been a leader in conservation service and education. Recipient of an M. S. in agricultural economics from Wisconsin, you have been an assistant professor of outdoor education at Northern Illinois University’s Lorado Taft campus for the past decade. You earlier were chief of the Information and Education Division of Saskatchewan’s Department of Natural Resources, editor of the Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, head of the education program for the South Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, director of Clemson’s land-use area and naturalist-in-residence at Dartmouth. You have been cited by the South Carolina Garden Clubs and Wildlife Federation and have been named Conservation Naturalist of the Year by the Saskatchewan History Society and Conservation Educator for 1973 by the Isaak Walton League of Illinois.
