Fragments of Beloit College student life from the Beloit College Archives.

Our Spring 1974 issue noted that interest among students and faculty had resulted in “the first (hockey) squad in five years.” William McCutcheon, professor of religious studies, served as coach for the club which had a 6-2 record in the Wisconsin Collegiate Hockey Association.

Fifty years later, our prediction that “hockey … may move with increasing popularity from a club to varsity sport” is finally coming true.
