Dean of Students and Chief Diversity Officer Emeritus Cecil Youngblood
Cecil Youngblood welcomed into staff emeriti of Beloit College after 28 years of distinguished service.
Credit: Howard Korn’87Dean of Students Emeritus Cecil Youngbloodearned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Augustana College in 1976, and he joined Beloit College in 1997 as the head men’s basketball coach, where he mentored student-athletes on the court and fostered their personal growth off the court. He went on to serve as the men’s and women’s golf coach and as assistant athletic director, and earned a Masters in Education from National Louis University in Chicago in 2008. His leadership journey culminated in his roles as the college’s Dean of Students, Title IX Coordinator, and Chief Diversity Officer. In these capacities, he oversaw such critical programs as Residential Life, the Student Engagement and Leadership program, the Powerhouse, Learning Enrichment and Disability Services, and the newly-established Office for Student Success, Equity, and Community. Cecil’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment has been a hallmark of his career. He was instrumental in organizing initiatives to promote social justice, equity, and community engagement. His leadership has had a profound impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues, and is an inspiration for future generations of Beloiters.
