Scrutinizing the Dust by Marjorie Hanft '76 The American Midwest and Ancient Greece come alive in these poems, which poet Olga Abella describes as weaving “a journey through memory, history, art, and the vision of words, showing us the delicacy and elegance of language.”

The collection, dedicated to John Wyatt, the beloved Beloit classics professor who passed away in 2008, features cover art by Deborah Hede ’76.

Susan Turner Vogt ’83 in February with D’Artagnan, one of 26 wolfdogs she’s rescued and provided a home for at the Red Riding Hood Sanctuary for wolfdogs in Ohio. Dart is a low-content wolfdog, 34% Gray Wolf and varying percentages of Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and German Shepherd. His blue eyes are most likely from Husky genes.
