Transfer to Beloit College made easier for WTCS students
Beloit College has joined the WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement, allowing students from Wisconsin Technical Colleges to have specified credits count towards their bachelor’s degree at Beloit College.
Beloit College has joined 16 Wisconsin private colleges in a course credit transfer agreement that makes it easier for technical college students to transfer to Beloit to complete a bachelor’s degree. To assist students in pursuing their academic and career goals, the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) developed a course-to-course transfer agreement to facilitate the transfer process for technical college students in the state who wish to continue their education at a participating Wisconsin college or university.
Students looking to transfer credits from any of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges will find the process simplified now that Beloit has joined the WAICU-WTCS Course Credit Transfer Agreement between the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) and the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Under this agreement, specified technical college credits earned within the last ten years will count towards a bachelor’s degree at Beloit. Nearby Blackhawk Technical College, with its central campus between Beloit and Janesville, is a part of WTCS, and a participant in the agreement.
“Beloit College is proud to partner with the WAICU in this course-to-course agreement with Wisconsin’s technical colleges,” says Beloit College President Eric Boynton. “We are committed to ensuring a smooth transfer process for any students from Wisconsin Technical Colleges who wish to continue their education at Beloit College. We welcome these students with open arms.”
The ability to easily transfer earned credits provides opportunities for students who would like to complete a bachelor’s degree. The transfer agreement, which can reduce time to graduation and financial cost for students, includes more than a dozen popular introductory courses including English composition, statistics, biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology.
According to WAICU President Eric W. Fulcomer, “Beloit’s addition is important as the state strives to increase the level of educational attainment and meet the needs of the Wisconsin workforce today and in the future.”
WTCS President Layla Merrifield concurs, saying “The inclusion of Beloit College in the course-to-course transfer agreement broadens access to high quality baccalaureate education for students across the state.”
