  • Joan Merry Fels ’47, April 12, 2025, in Dover, Delaware. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Fels, and is survived by three daughters and three sons.

  • Carolyn Love Longmire ’50, former teacher, active community volunteer; March 23, 2025, in Centennial, Colorado. She was predeceased by her husband, David Longmire, and is survived by a daughter and two sons.
  • Marjory Wunluck Noffke ’51, April 21, 2025, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Noffke, and is survived by three sons.
  • Robert “Buff” Norgren ’52, retired attorney; May 8, 2024, in London, England. He is survived by his wife, Frances Trout Norgren ’53, a son, and three daughters.
  • Joan Sullivan Berna ’53, recipient of Beloit’s Distinguished Service Citation, retired community service director, active community member; June 10, 2025, in Elgin, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Berna ’53, and is survived by two daughters and two sons, including Greg Berna ’86.
  • William H. Fawcett ’53, U.S. Navy veteran, retired dentist; May 18, 2025, in Weeki Wachee, Florida. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen Hales Fawcett (1922), and his first wife, Patricia Fawcett. Survivors include his wife, Laverne Fawcett, and a daughter.
  • Dr. Kenneth E. Murray ’54, retired physician, avid golfer; March 16, 2025, in Novi, Michigan. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Irene Murray, and is survived by two daughters and two sons.
  • Richard B. Neal ’54, U.S. Army veteran, former consultant, owner of Peregrine Wines; June 17, 2025, in Vail, Colorado. He is survived by three sons.
  • Robert E. Kemp ’55, U.S. Army veteran, farmer, teacher, and coach; May 16, 2025, in Poplar Grove, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Judith McAfee Kemp ’56, two sons, and three daughters.
  • Curtis E. Kenyon ’55, retired executive; Nov. 13, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Elinor Kenyon, and two sons.
  • Janet Bareis McCallister ’55, Jan. 24, 2025, in Washougal, Washington. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Bareis ’50.
  • Joan Hammer Stauffacher ’55, active community member, animal lover, and nature lover; June 8, 2025, in Troy, Michigan. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Al Stauffacher, and three daughters.
  • Geoffrey P. Fernald ’56, U.S. Navy veteran, retired sales manager; Feb. 22, 2025, in Milford, Delaware. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Fernald, and is survived by a daughter.
  • Katherine Plocar Talley ’59, co-owner of Book Shop, involved community member; April 8, 2025, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Talley, and daughter, Kathy. Survivors include two sons, and a brother, Charles Plocar ’63.

  • L. Richard Chase ’60, retired actuary, master bridge player and instructor; May 20, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Survivors include his wife, Joan Chase, a daughter, and a son.
  • Helga Fischer Olsson ’61, gifted painter and teacher; April 11, 2025, in Closter, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl Olsson, a daughter, and two sons.
  • Rebecca King Mays ’62, April 29, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Mays, and is survived by a daughter.
  • Margaret Roberts Mall ’63, March 21, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Loren Mall.
  • John “Moe” Carroll ’65, former assistant dean of students at Beloit College, founder of Carroll Agency; April 19, 2025, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carroll, daughter, Mary Anne Watson ’04, son, Jeff Carroll, grandson, Isaiah Wisdom ’21, and son-in-law, Ron Watson, associate provost and dean of students.
  • Michael J. Thompson ’66, U.S. Army veteran, retired educator; March 7, 2025, in Petaluma, California. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Thompson, and a daughter.
  • Philip H. Hart ’67, chaplain, attorney, educator; March 29, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Debra Hart, a daughter, and a son.
  • Toby Gurewitz Fisher ’68, former properties mistress for Apple Tree Theatre; Feb. 23, 2025, in Libertyville, Illinois. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Fisher, and is survived by two daughters and a brother, Tom Gurewitz ’71.
  • Joseph R. Kurth ’69, former educator and 4-H director; March 30, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was predeceased by his wife, Marianne Kurth, and is survived by a daughter and a son.
  • John R. “Luke” Seale ’69, union rat, retired bookkeeper; Feb. 6, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by a brother, and will be missed by his Sigma Pi fraternity brothers.

  • Neil J. Gamson ’71, retired economist; Aug. 20, 2024, in Silver Spring, Maryland. Survivors include his wife, Lori Gamson, and a son.
