BELOIT, WIS. (Oct 9, 2025) – Beloit College is excited to announce the appointment of Pat Miller as its new Athletic Director. A renowned leader in college athletics, Miller brings a wealth of experience and success to his new role, having spent 22 years as the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Miller led the UW-Whitewater basketball program to unprecedented success, including two NCAA Division III National Championships, six WIAC regular season championships, and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. His 434-167 record, with a .722 winning percentage ranks among the top 15 in Division III history.

Miller’s achievements extend far beyond his on-court success. His commitment to developing student-athletes has earned him a reputation as a leader who prioritizes holistic growth, academic success, and community engagement. He has been recognized with coaching honors, including four-time WIAC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year and two-time D3hoops.com National Coach of the Year.

As athletic director, Miller will leverage his deep Wisconsin roots and a strong network throughout the state’s athletic community to elevate Beloit College’s athletic programs. With his experience in recruiting, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement, he is poised to be a powerful ambassador and fundraiser for the college.

“Pat Miller is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of building championship-level programs and fostering a culture of excellence,” said Eric Boynton, president of Beloit College. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Beloit College community and look forward to his tireless efforts to enhance our athletic culture and drive success across our programs.”

Miller’s commitment to Beloit College is evident in his enthusiasm for the role and his eagerness to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to drive academic and athletic excellence.

“I am honored to join the Beloit College community and contribute to its rich tradition of excellence,” said Miller. “I am excited to work with the college’s leadership, coaches, and student-athletes to build a winning culture and elevate performance across our programs.”

Miller succeeds Dave DeGeorge, who served as Athletic Director from 2020 to 2025, and continues in his role as Head Baseball Coach, where he leads a record-setting baseball team that has won 3 consecutive conference championships. Dave will also continue to serve as Associate Athletic Director, continuing to provide expertise and leadership to the Athletic Department and supporting the incoming Athletic Director. In his time as Athletic Director, Dave oversaw growth that the college had never before seen, with increasing numbers of student athletes, coaches, and athletic programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave tackled the enormous job of navigating the Beloit College athletic teams through unprecedented and ever-changing public health guidelines, which allowed student athletes to return to competition safely.

With Miller at the helm, Beloit College is poised to take its athletic programs to new heights.
