Community trick or treat brings families and fall spirit to Beloit
Beloit College’s Annual Halloween Trick or Treat brought children and families to campus for an exciting evening of autumn crafts and games. Students from campus clubs and organizations handed out candy and led the activities.
On October 24, Beloit College hosted its 3rd Annual Halloween Trick or Treat for the Community, an opportunity for students to get involved with the community, and for families to build relationships with students. Beloit College students welcomed children and families onto campus at the Wall, Beloit’s historic campus center. They dressed for the occasion in a variety of costumes and warm smiles that invited the Halloween spirit. The two-hour event was an exciting mix of kid-friendly fun that included crafts, coloring, and candy.
“It was really nice to see a lot of the community members like Phi Psi and other clubs on campus getting involved and making sure everyone had a good time,” says Elliot Ave-Lallemant ’27.
Students from on-campus clubs and organizations were in charge of activities that included face-painting, bingo, and throwing plastic axes at a target. And, of course, there were the sweet treats themselves handed out in front of the various campus buildings around the Wall. Students from The Round Table, Latinx Voices, sororities Theta Pi Gamma and Kappa Delta, and fraternity Phi Kappa Psi, strengthened their ties to the surrounding community. It’s a bond that persists year-round.
The trick or treat, organized by Beloit’s Office of Residential Life, is emblematic of the college’s collaboration with the community, a testament to how Beloit‘s student body reaches beyond campus and connects with the community around them.
