The Education of Clarence Three Stars by Philip Burnham '74 This biography, based on letters, reports, classroom lessons, and institutional records, tells the story of a teacher, lawyer, and president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

A member of the Minneconjou Lakotas, he lived his two cultures, languages, and ways of seeing the world with courage, and used education to fight for his people’s welfare during a transitional era in their history.
