Assistant Professor of Economics
Co-Department Chair of Data Science and Data Analytics

Description / Biography

I teach courses in the School of Business as well as in Data Science and Data Analytics. In the School of Business, I primarily teach Principles of Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, and electives such as Business Analytics and Analytics with SQL. In the Data Science and Data Analytics program, I teach Introduction to Data Science and Data Analytics, Data Visualization, and the Senior Seminar.

My research interests are varied but mainly fall within Development Economics and Health Economics. Specifically, I focus on health issues across different communities, with an emphasis on disadvantaged social groups (including caste groups in India) and gender. I am also interested in studying the effects of Artificial Intelligence on outcomes such as employee productivity and firm growth.
