Feminist Collective
Description
The feminist collective aims to provide inclusive feminist activities and initiatives on campus with resources for all genders while offering a safe anti-racist space for inclusive discussions and support. We are about fighting for the rights of each woman and gender non-conforming person to be fully respected and enforced as part of a larger struggle for social justice, sustainable development and human rights for all.
Details
Membership is open to all Beloit College Students paying a Student Activities fee, regardless of gender, sex, race, color, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religion, or previous academic experience. House members are chosen according to the Feminist Collective Housing Policy, and serve as permanent organizers of the Collective.
Members of the Feminist Collective are responsible for planning and facilitating weekly meetings, organizing club activities, and planning an annual week or so of feminism-related events. House members will actively participate in all club activities and decisions and responsibly perform their duties, save for extenuating circumstances, in which case members are expected to give appropriate notice of absence and are still expected to see that tasks are completed. House members will also work to ensure that all house and club members feel safe living and/or spending time in the house and will respect all house rules decided upon. As the nature of the collective is one of shared responsibility, members are expected to take initiative and assume duties as necessary.
