Oswaldo Voysest joined the faculty in 1997, and was promoted to associate professor in 2003. His research interests include 19th- and 20th-century Spanish-American literature. In retirement, he is looking to start his own coaching and consulting business to help companies and institutions use the humanities.

Professor Voysest earned a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, an M.A. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Hawaii, a diplôme d’Etude de la Civilisation Française from the Universite de Paris-Sorbonne, and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literature from the University of California-Berkeley.
