Weissberg Chair Joan Donovan on campus this week

Each year, the Weissberg Program in Human Rights and Social Justice brings a distinguished individual to campus who has made important contributions to understanding and defending human rights on the international stage.

This year’s Chair is Joan Donovan, assistant professor of journalism and emerging media studies at Boston University. Dr. Donovan’s research explores how media manipulation is a means to control public conversation, derail democracy, and disrupt society.

Office hours with the Schools

In the next few weeks, representatives of each of the schools will hold office hours on a specific day between 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at the Powerhouse, beginning Monday, March 25. The four schools are Business, Health Sciences, Media and the Arts, and Environment and Sustainability. Look for more information on specific days for each school coming soon on the campus calendar and in next week’s Beat.

All students, regardless of major, may engage with schools in a variety of ways.

The college is creating the schools to help students build on the liberal arts curriculum by bringing career pathways to the center of students’ college experience, linking classes with career-focused advising and programming, pre-professional experiential learning opportunities, and specialized credentials.
