Hello Beloiters! April is here already, and we are only three and a half weeks away from the end of classes and the start of finals. Keep it up everyone: spring and summer are on the way.

Spring Sports Highlights: Celebrations at home games

The Student Athletic Advisory Council is highlighting one home game for each sport this season. In addition to the athletic performances of the Buccaneers, audiences can expect food, fan competitions, and a chance to win a t-shirt!

This week’s sports highlight is Track and Field’s annual Beloit Relays, happening at Strong Stadium on Saturday, Apr. 12 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Join the School of Environment and Sustainability for a week of events to explore careers, dive into challenging topics, and enjoy the great outdoors!

Come together for the Day of Unity

The second annual Day of Unity: Your Voice, Your Community will take place on Friday. Come and co-create the campus through dialogue with other students, faculty, and staff. Panels, breakouts, and facilitated discussions with one of the country’s top facilitators will bring the campus together in new and creative ways.

Attend the senior art exhibition opening

Stop by the Wright Museum on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the grand opening of the senior art exhibition. See the installations from each graduating senior art student, enjoy refreshments and a lively atmosphere, and find out who wins the coveted yearly prize to have their piece purchased for the Wright Museum collection.

Sports Recap

  • Women’s lacrosse split two NACC games this week. They fell in the first to Lake Forest College, 25-8, but came back strong on the weekend, defeating Concordia University (Wis), 15-14. The highlight of the week came against the Foresters, when senior Johanna McNair ’25 broke the all-time program scoring record after drilling home her 129 career goal.

  • Men’s lacrosse also split a pair of NACC games, including an 8-5 win over Marian University. Ryder Story ’27 led the Bucs with three goals in the contest. They will host Cornell College at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Strong Stadium.

  • Baseball took one in a weekend series against Lawrence University. Seth Brankey ’27 led the Bucs offense in their 6-2 win with three hits, including a double and a home run. Harvey Pena ’25 also broke the all-time appearance record for the program with his 53.

  • Softball played a pair of double headers over the weekend against Cornell College and Grinnell College. Despite losing, there were some individual triumphs, including another home run from Allison Olson ’27 and seniors Angela Donath ’25 and Siddalee Meyers ’25 each had three hits in game three. They will host a pair of double headers this weekend, each starting at 1 p.m.

  • Track and Field competed in the Wisconsin Private College Championships, where the men’s team placed third and the women’s placed ninth. The team saw two first place finishes. Nate Otis ’26 won the 400-meter hurdles, 55.34, and the men’s 4x400 meter relay took the top step on the podium.

Housing Lottery will take place in April. Students will receive their lottery numbers via email towards the end of March. Housing accommodations will be considered April 2-4. Housing selections will take place April 14-16. Watch your emails for details specific for you.
