March 2 - 8 Good luck with midterms! Students can take a paws from studying for midterms with therapy dogs brought to campus by Beloit Cross-Disability Coalition (BCDC).Hello Beloiters! It’s midterm week — good luck with your projects, papers, and exams. Check out the campus calendar when you’re ready for a break — there are things happening all week to help you study, move your body, or prepare for what’s next. Don’t see something on the calendar? Sports Recap Track and Field headed to Iowa for the Midwest Conference Indoor Championship. The main story of the meet was the men’s Sprint Medley team (Josh Yearby ’27, Nate Otis ’26, Ayouba Sumoaro ’27, Kembre Daniel ’28) which broke a 27-year-old school record with a time of 3:34:00, placing second overall. Dylan Malmgren ’28 also broke a school record in the 5000m run with a time of 15:17:44. On the women’s side, pole vaulter Naomee Casey ’27 secured the gold with a height of 3.05m, and Haley Carlin ’27 finished third, not far behind. Softball put up a fight in their doubleheader against UW-Superior and Wisconsin Lutheran College. Brinley Richards ’29 proved to be a bright spot on offense against Superior, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Pitcher Abi Krepelka ’29 made her own impact, allowing only one hit in 1.2 innings. Teamwork shone against Wisconsin Lutheran, when Kaitlyn Nicholson ’28’s RBI, opened the door for Jessalyn Coppe ’26 to cross the plate. Baseball kicked off their season, playing three games. Jacopo Tamburini ’27 notched the first run of the season with a bases-loaded walk. Seth Brankey ’27 and Nolan Tomsyck ’27 followed, hitting four RBIs total, and sealing the win against Elmhurst 8-3. On Saturday, Parker Krcmar ’27 ignited the offense with two stolen bases and a scoring run, and the Bucs won their game against Wisconsin Lutheran 5-3 Men’s Lacrosse rose to 2-0 last week in a dominant 10-3 win against Alma College. Liam Walker ’26 added four goals to his season tally, with Rilan Larmore ’28, Ryder Story ’27, and John Imbriale ’28 contributing two goals each. Possession was the name of Cristian Lewis ’29’s game, and he led the team in ground balls with 10, keeping Beloit on the offensive. |
