Assistant Professor of Political Science

Description / Biography

I have been at Beloit since 2023, but spiritually I’ve been in the Midwest my whole life. I teach courses in American politics and methods broadly, with particular interests in political behavior and the carceral state.

My research focuses on the role of the carceral state in American democracy. Forthcoming work covers the effect of punitive institutions on the political behavior of those in frequent contact with them, and the responsiveness of the police to political demands.

I have normal interests and hobbies.
