Executive in Residence in Sport Management

Description / Biography

In the 2023-24 academic year, I joined the faculty as an Executive in Residence and Visiting Professor in Sport Management. Prior to coming back to my alma mater, I was an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago Quinlan School of Business Sport Management. Currently, I serve as a Business Accelerator & Incubator Mentor and Head JV Boys Basketball Coach at Lake Forest High School.

Previously to my teaching and coaching career, I served as the Senior Director of Premium Seating Sales and Services for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, and United Center for 37 years. This time in professional sports fortunately has brought me a wealth of experience in development of revenue streams, sales, marketing, business development, strategic planning and management, customer service, operations, and hospitality in professional sports. During my tenure at the United Center, our team was credited for a variety of innovative premium seating products including the all-inclusive Theater Boxes. Along with other front office personnel, I was awarded six World Champion NBA rings and three NHL Stanley Cup championships.

During my professional sports career, I served on the Bulls, Blackhawks, and United Center executive COVID, technology, marketing, operations, and ownership committees. I also served as the President and board member of the Association of Luxury Suite Directors and Ohio University Sport Management School.

When not on campus, I’m spending time with my wife Caryn, our three adult sons Casey (wife Hilary), Connor, and Kyle, two grandsons Grady and Rory, and cockapoo dog Jessie.
