Collections

The Logan Museum houses approximately 350,000 ethnographic and archaeological objects from 129 countries and more than 600 cultural groups. Collections derive from research expeditions, field schools, gifts, exchanges, and purchases. The museum continues to acquire collections on a highly selective basis and conducts and sponsors extensive research and educational use of these collections.

The Logan Museum recognizes that the collections we steward represent the lived experiences of descendant communities past and present. We aspire to be respectful of the ways we curate, interpret, and preserve the collections that are entrusted to our care. As an essential part of these efforts, we welcome and invite consultation, tribal visits, and are eager to provide collections access to descendant communities near and far. Information about repatriation and NAGPRA compliance can be found under Repatriation.
