Beloit College practices a need-aware admission policy. This means that an applicant’s demonstrated financial need is reviewed as part of the application evaluation process for admission. Beloit offers generous merit and need-based financial aid to international applicants, but need-based aid does become more competitive as an applicant’s demonstrated financial need increases.

Yes. All international applicants will be considered for merit-based scholarships during the admission review process.

Beloit does not offer full-ride scholarships, which are scholarships covering all costs of attendance.

A limited number of full-tuition scholarships are awarded to international students each year. Students will be selected by the admissions committee to apply for these scholarships. A full-tuition scholarship covers tuition expenses only. The remaining costs associated with attendance include room, board, fees, books, supplies, personal expenses, insurance, travel, and fees associated with the visa process are not included. Recipients of a full-tuition scholarship will need to be able to demonstrate financial support for these remaining costs to obtain an I-20 document for their student visa. 

The Beloit College International Student Financial Aid Application or the CSS Profile provides detailed family information—household size, country of residence, income, assets, expenses, other financial responsibilities, and estimated financial contribution to education—used to determine aid eligibility. Students, and their families, are responsible for sharing in the cost of education.

No. Unfortunately, we will only consider applications for financial aid from international students during the application process.

Once you enroll at Beloit College, you will no longer be able to be considered for financial aid. As part of the application for admission, all applicants needing financial assistance are required to complete the Beloit College International Student Financial Aid Application or the CSS Profile as thoroughly and accurately as possible. Beloit College values a vibrant international community and does award generous merit-based scholarships to its international applicants. Yet, when reviewing for need-based aid we cannot guarantee that we can meet the full demonstrated financial need of every applicant. 

It is important to be honest when reporting the amount of financial support you and your family can contribute to your education. You should not overestimate or underestimate the amount of money you can contribute. Inaccurate financial support information could factor into final admission and financial aid decisions.  

Applicants who do not intend to apply for need-based financial aid consideration will need to complete the Beloit College Declaration of Finances form and submit supporting financial documentation, such as a bank statement. You will need to log into your Beloit College application portal to complete this form. Financial support forms and documentation should be submitted by, or shortly after, the application deadline for which you are applying. Supporting documentation can be uploaded directly in the Declaration of Finances form, through your application portal page, or emailed to intadmis@beloit.edu.

Please reach out to your admission counselor to discuss your situation in more detail. Your counselor may recommend that if your financial situation changes, or there are special circumstances that should be considered, that you file an appeal. In the appeal request form, you will need to provide a detailed explanation of the financial situation changes and provide supporting documentation. Do not complete an appeal form without speaking to your admission counselor first.

The amount in scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study you received on your financial aid offer will remain the same for a total of eight semesters as long as you maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Current students who encounter special circumstances or emergencies that change or impact their family’s ability to pay are advised to reach out to the Office of Financial Aid to discuss potential one-time support options.

The Beloit College Loan is a lending program sponsored by Beloit College for both domestic and international students. The loan is interest-free while the student is enrolled (interest begins accruing in the repayment period) and is also a co-signer-free loan program. Nine months after the student graduates or falls below a half-time enrollment status, the 10-year repayment plan will begin with a 7% fixed interest rate. You’re eligible for this same loan amount for each year, up to 4 years.
