The Pantry
Providing consumable items to students in need.
The Pantry is a free service where students can get food, hygiene, or sanitary items donated by their peers and others. It is open to all Beloit College students, both on-campus and commuters. The goal is to help students with any needs they have, no questions asked.
Using The Pantry
Students who are in need of items should visit the Residential Life office in Porter Hall during regular business hours. Students who do not reside in Porter Hall or Whitney Hall can still use their Beloit College ID to enter either building to access the office.
When you arrive, please ask for The Pantry.
Available items
- Non-perishable food, including canned food, grains, snacks, and more
- Hygiene and sanitary products
Giving to The Pantry
While the Residential Life office contributes what it can, we rely on donations to keep a good stock of items available for students. Many of our donations actually come from students who share items that they cannot take with them when moving out. More donations are generously given by faculty, staff, and friends of the college in support of students.
Those wishing to contribute should visit the Residential Life office in Porter Hall during regular business hours. Those unable to access the building should call the office to be let in.
Accepted items
- Non-perishable food, or anything with a good shelf life
- Hygiene and sanitary products
Unacceptable items
- Perishable food, including anything that requires refrigeration
- Opened or used items
For clothing, supplies, and other items
The Pantry provides only consumable items like food or hygiene products. For other needs, like clothing or class supplies, please contact Financial Aid staff for their similar service called The Nest.
