“Even after a semester-long journey of preparation, the Miller Upton Forum was an enthralling event when it happened. The irony, much to our delight, was that the event’s grandeur could carry such tight-knit, friendly interactions with it. We were given a platform to openly discuss issues surrounding the world energy problem with economists and thinkers of the highest stature. As students, we were able to challenge, propose and rebuild ideas with the curiosity and spark that runs among youngsters.

Today, four speakers continue to be my inspiration: Michael Greenstone’s passionate work with energy in developing nations motivates me to do something similar for the future. Andrew Revkins’ vigor to question and learn teaches me to not be complacent with the resources we already have. Yoram Bauman’s friendly guidance and involvement has encouraged me to assist him in small-scale carbon-tax research post the Upton Forum. And Anukriti Hittle unabashedly proves that a woman of color can battle global energy problems alongside the nation’s brightest minds.”
