Spanish 210 cartoneras on display at Morse Library
The start of a new semester means new exhibits at Morse Library! Our newest exhibit features cartoneras created by students in Spanish 210 - Spanish in Dialogue with the Environment. These works will remain on display until the end of February.
Cartoneras are handmade books crafted from recycled materials such as cardboard, magazines, cans, bottles, and more. Students researched topics including climate change, global warming, and endangered species in Spain and Latin America, and incorporated articles, images, and other information from their research into their cartoneras. They then used a variety of recycled materials and art supplies to bind and decorate their books. Each book is unique and features a different theme, from celebrating a student’s time on campus to wildlife conservation.
The cartoneras exhibit is located on the second floor of Morse Library in the entrance vestibule.
